No 2130104056, entitled: “Pre-Service Teachers’ Strategies in Teaching Writing Procedure Text at Junior High Schools” (A Study of English Department Students of UIN Mahmud Yunus Batusangkar Registered in 2024/2025 Academic Year). English Teaching Department Faculty of Tarbiyah and Teacher Training Islamic State University of Mahmud Yunus Batusangkar. The problem of this research is that the pre-service teachers’ strategies in teaching writing procedure text at junior high schools. The purpose of this research was to know and describe the pre-service teachers’ strategies in teaching writing procedure text at junior high schools. This research was a qualitative research, using descriptive design. The technique used in collecting informants is purposive random sampling. The informants in this research were the english pre-service teachers at junior high schools UIN Mahmud Yunus Batusangkar who were registered 2024/2025 academic year and had teached procedure text. In this research, the researcher as the key instrument and the interview guide as a supporting instrument. To test the validity of the data, the researcher used a prolong engagement, namely by conducting additional interviews if there was insufficient or doubtful data or information regarding the consent requested by the informant during the first interview. To carry out data analysis, the researcher referred to the theory (Miles and Huberman, 1994), namely data reduction, data display and conclusion drawing and data verification. The researcher conducted interviews based on the interview guide, then analyzed the results of the interviews, and drew conclusions and verified the research findings. The results of this research showed that there were eight pre-service teachers’ strategies in teaching writing procedure text at junior high schools. They are as follows: 1) Discovery Learning Strategy, 2) Demonstration Strategy, 3) Question-Answer Relationship (QAR), 4) Collaborative Learning Strategy, 5) Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL), 6) Scaffolding Strategy, 7) Reciprocal Teaching Strategy, and 8) Think Aloud Strategy. |
