Abstrak: The problem of this study is the unrevealed difficulties faced by English Pre-service teacher in designing descriptive text module. The purpose of this study is to find out the difficulties faced by English pre-service teachers in designing core components of descriptive text module. This research uses a qualitative approach. The informants of this research were students of English Department who’s done pre-service teaching program at 2024/2025 academic year and designing descriptive text module at senior high schools. The informants were 5 people. In this study, the researcher acted as a key instrument and the interview guide as a supporting instrument. In collecting data, the researcher conducted interviews with the informants. Furthermore, in analysing the data, data reduction, data display, and data verification were used. To test the trustworthiness of the data, triangulation was used to confirm unclear information in previous interviews. The results showed that there are few difficulties that faced by English pre-service teacher in designing descriptive text module namely 1) Difficulty in Setting Learning Objectives, 2) Difficulty Choosing an Appropriate Level of Material Difficulty, 3) Difficulty in Determining the Right Assessment Format, 4) Difficulties in Designing Authentic and Varied Assessments, 5) Lack of Understanding of the Concept of Meaningful Understanding, 6) Difficulty in Designing Effective Triggering Questions, 7) Difficulty in Implementing the GBA (Genre-Based Approach) Learning Model for Active Student Participation, 8) Difficulty Adjusting Learning Activities to the Right Materials, 9) Difficulty Designing Engaging Learning Activities, 10) Difficulty in Designing Learning Activities that Accommodate Various Student Learning Styles, 11) Difficulty Assessing Learning Effectiveness, 12) Difficulty Determining the Right Form of Reflection, 13) Difficulty Designing Reflections that Help Learners Reflect on Learning.
