Thesis Title: "The Role of Parents in Instilling Islamic Religious Education in Children During the Covid 19 Pandemic In Jorong Sitiung Tangah Kenagarian Sitiung, Sitiung District, Dharmasraya Regency. Department of Islamic Education, Faculty of Tarbiyah and Teacher Training at the State Islamic Institute (IAIN) Batusangkar 2021. This research is motivated by the current pandemic conditions, where teaching and learning activities are mostly carried out at home, therefore children spend more time with their parents so that parents instill more religious values. Based on the above, the study in this research is very important to do to understand the real role of parents in accompanying their children during the Covid-19 pandemic, including when accompanying children to study from home. This study uses qualitative descriptive research methods. Research with descriptive qualitative methods emphasizes analysis of the process of thinking inductively related to the dynamics of the relationship between observed phenomena, and always uses scientific logic, then qualitative descriptive research also emphasizes processes and inductive thinking and is also related to the research process. The results of the study found that parents have carried out their roles but have not been maximized, among the roles of parents is to instill in children to establish prayer by being an example for children by inviting children to pray in congregation, parents become facilitators for their children in carrying out the five prayers. such as providing prayer mats and mukena for girls, prayer rugs and sarongs for boys as well as facilitating a comfortable place to worship. to do infaq and alms parents become role models for their children in life of sharing and helping each other, in issuing infaq and alms parents tell their children to set aside pocket money and give good things to give to people in need. On the other hand, there are still many parents who have not played a maximum role in instilling religious education in their children, this happens because many parents are busy working so they don't have enough time to educate their children.
